Cameron has been a ballet dancer for 21 years. Born in Boston, MA, she danced in many well-known ballet schools such as Boston Ballet and Pennsylvania School of Ballet. She received training in many styles of classical ballet, including Ceccetti, Vaganova, and Balanchine methods. Cameron considers herself a native Californian however, and recently moved to Hendersonville from Santa Crey, CA after living there for 12 years. In California, she taught ballet to children and adults at private schools and the cultural center, as well as the community college, Cabrillo College. Cameron has also performed with ballet companies in California, including the Santa Crey Chamber Ballet, and Motion Pacific Dance Studio, and was a teacher and company member at the Monterey Bay Academy of Dance.
Cameron is enjoying living in Hendersonville and is very excited to be a part of Releve Performing Arts Center. In addition to teaching ballet classes here, she is also a substitute teacher at a local preschool. She is the proud mother of a 3-year-old son..
Merle founded Merle's Dance Place in August, 1988 and successfully owned and operated the business until June of 2010, when it became Relev Performing Arts Center. Merle is currently First Vice President of Carolina Dance Masters and active in Dance Masters of America, Inc. She is a Certified Dance Educator through Dance Masters of America, Inc and has held the title of Miss Dance of North Carolina. Miss Merle's students have won many honors, including Mister Dance of NC, Junior Mister Dance of NC, the"Beale Fletcher Entertainment Award", and the "Backstage Award." She is also the president of the Hendersonville Merchant’s Association.
Merle is married to her husband Tony. They have two children, Anthony and Alexis, and one grandson, Zayden.
Brigitte Harrison (instructor)
Brigitte moved to NC in March of 2007. She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and modern dance. Brigitte is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She was part of the Alabama Repertoire Dance Theater and Crimson Cabaret. As a junior in college, she began teaching and found this to be her niche in the dance world. Brigitte enjoys teaching and investing in the lives of her students.
Brigitte is married to her husband, John Mark, and they have one son, Cade.
Jamie Peeler Osteen (co-owner, instructor)
Jamie Peeler Osteen has spent most of her life either performing, teaching, coaching or choreographing dance and cheer. Dancing since the age of 5, Jamie has trained in all forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Acrobatics, Gymnastics, Pointe and Musical Theater. A native of Hendersonville, NC, Jamie spent her early years, competing and performing in the area in both cheer and dance. At age 18, Jamie auditioned and was chosen as one of eight dancer from her studio to dance in the movie Dirty Dancing.
Jamie is a 1994 graduate of UNC-Asheville with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama. While in college, Jamie continued her dance education taking dance classes, attending several workshops and conventions. She was a cheerleader all four years and founded the UNCA Dance Team her senior year.
Jamie is in her 18th year as Head Coach of the UNCA Cheer and Dance Team. She has also spent the last 6 yrs teaching at Merle’s Dance Place. While teaching there, her students have won numerous high point, overall and special awards including “Most Entertaining”, “Crowd Pleaser“, and “Highest Score of the Day”. Her choreography has made a name for itself by being creative and entertaining and she is recognized not only at the regional level but at the national level as well. Jamie has also taught at many workshops and camps and is a highly sought after judge for cheer and dance tryouts, auditions and competitions. She is also a certified member of Dance Master of America and Carolina Dance Masters Chapter 15. Jamie has tested and been certified in cheerleading safety though NCA and AACCA. Jamie has continued her dance training under some of the best known choreographers in the world including Napoleon & Tabitha D’umo, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, Shane Sparks, Dave Scott, Laurie Ann Gibson, Cris Judd and Nick Bass.
Jamie’s own personal reward is being able to share her love for dance with her students and inspiring them to be the best they can be. Dance has been a major part of her life from a very early age and she is very excited to continue with her passion in this new phase of her dance career. Jamie has been married to her husband, Tony, for 14 yrs and is the proud mother of two wonderful sons, Hunter and Nolan.
Beth Easler Bradley (co-owner, instructor)
Beth is a native of Hendersonville and began her dance training at the age of four. Throughout her years as a student she studied all forms of dance, including tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, and acrobatics. She attended the Governor’s School of North Carolina in 1997 in the area of dance and studied for 6 weeks that summer under the tutelage of various modern, jazz and ballet teachers. Beth was active in competitions as a teenager and won many awards for her group and solo routines. In 1998 she was awarded the title of Blue Ridge Junior Miss and went on to compete in the North Carolina’s Junior Miss scholarship competition, where she won a preliminary award in physical fitness.
Beth began her teaching career while a student at UNC-Asheville. Upon graduation in 2002, she began teaching and choreographing full-time. She taught for eight years at Merle’s Dance Place before moving to Shelby, NC where she was an instructor at the Academy of Performing Arts for four years. She is known for her innovative and creative choreography and has won numerous best choreography awards, most entertaining awards, and overall and highest score awards from many regional and national competitions. Her students have become Mr. Dance of North Carolina, Master and Teen Mr. Dance of North Carolina, and finalists in the Petite, Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Dance of North Carolina pageants.
Beth is the oldest of 18 children (wow!) and feels her experiences in being a part of her family have shaped her into the woman she is today. She is passionate about teaching what she loves to all students, and is committed to excellence and encouragement for all who come through the studio doors. Miss Beth is married to her husband Matt. They have two girls, Campbell and Callie, and a new little one on the way!
